I'm gonna give you a real cushy lie for a gamble shot that--

Oh, that's nice.

Yeah, so that's down grain.

So Yeah, if you-- you're licking your chops at this one, you want to open it up and--

You're going to try to land this ball on just, or--

Yeah, let's try just right on.

There you go.

That's a runner though, isn't it. Yeah.

It's pretty nice. See that was pretty nice, that one. You when longer, softer. The lie wasn't a worry, right?

No, it was a great lie. And even here, like something like this, you could hit a lower shot--

I was going to say, I just saw that. You now--

It's a little quick.

Let's do that one. Let's do the one that-- you're gonna play a bounce off the short, and bounce it in?

Yeah, I mean, if I had this exact shot I would just hit a runner. I mean--

So I think it's important for people to know that these two balls are six inches apart. The runner is not in play on that one, but it is on that one, because of the way that the grass is laying. Is that true?

Yes.

That's really not a runner lie there.

No. And I will say this, I've tried to only hit high shots from the rough, because I've had not as much success with low shots from the rough, and I'd recommend that for amateurs. But I'm still going to open it a little bit, and just try to play just a little bit of a runner.

Almost, right? Almost. One more. One more at a decent lie.

There it is.

And you know as soon as you hit it whether it's perfect, right?

You do. You do. As soon as you touch it, you know whether it's perfect. Now-- go on.

[LAUGHING]

That's really nasty there. So that's pretty nice. One more chop out. We're going to play a chop-- like a chopping round. We can't fly it out of there, so you're just gonna try to bounce it up there.

Yeah, I need to keep accelerating. I haven't done a very good job with that.

Yeah. So you've got a-- you know, you've got to come out and try all the--

Oh Yeah. That's what you've got to do.

Well, and the other thing too, I've gotten better at, is taking the practice swing wherever you are, feeling the lie, you know. OK.

When you say what-- feeling the lie, it's like how much resistance.

Exactly. Like OK, feel here. It's long, but it's thin, so it's coming out nice, so you don't-- or maybe it's thick and it's grabbing your clubs, so you have to make a big swing. So you might have to go up away from it, to hack it out--

Exactly, that's important. And also, on full swings on the rough.

You bet.
