Colt Knost Mental Game Keeping it Simple

I was hot and cold in my career with my putter. I had to work so hard at my putting just to, sort of, keep it normal. Otherwise, I felt like I was going to go off the rails sometime with my putting. I putt better now, but I know more now. But, you know, there's more things to learn with now, whether it's a laser, whatever it is.

Yeah, for sure. You know, I just-- I've always been a simple guy. I like to keep things very simple, you know. I don't mess around with TrackMan. I don't get on video very often. I just-- I look-- Randy has always taught me, as far as golf swing, to let the shot create the golf swing. And, I mean, I'm a good enough athlete to know if I want to hit the ball high, I'm never going to run out in front of it. If I want to hit low, I'm never going to hang back on my back foot, and stuff like that. We keep things very, very simple.

Simple.

And as far as, like, even putting, I mean, you know, my stroke doesn't get off very often. It's just a little bit of fundamentals, you know. Maybe ball position or shoulders. But I think I'm a great putter. And, you know, if I have a bad putting day, I never really think that much of it. I just-- I know tomorrow is going to be better. You know? I never look back at a hole, the hole before, and think-- Oh, god, I missed a three footer, and now I got another one.

Mr. Burke says, it wasn't going to be a doubt whether he was going to putt good, it was just whether it was going to be miraculous.

Exactly. Yeah, exactly.

You're the same as him.

And when you putt miraculous, you know you're going to make a lot of money and probably win some trophies.
